( ) Ecstasy is the trendy drug of this generation. Unfortunately, there is not a lot of information being published about its detrimental effects. This book is one of the few sources I could find on this topic.
Smith moved to New York to attend acting school and pursue her dream of being on stage. She graduates, but instead of then auditioning for roles, she waits tables, bartends, and parties. Soon her life revolves around partying and drugs – namely ecstasy.
She quickly starts losing her sanity, and winds up in a hospital psychiatric ward with psychosis. After that, with the support of her family and boyfriend, she swears off the drugs and alcohol. MTV catches wind of her story and films her for their True Life series. This starts her on a path of speaking to others about the dangers of drug use.
The book is attention-grabbing and very well written. I finished it fast because I had trouble putting it down.
