Life by Committee by Corey Ann Haydu

haydu, corey ann - life by committee(thumbs_up) Imagine giving the reigns of your life and behaviors over to an online community. That’s what the main character does here.

She loses her friends for reasons she’s not even clear about. In her loneliness she begins a relationship with a boy who already has a girlfriend. She also seeks friendship in an online community that she coincidentally found written in a book.

The premise of the online community is this: share a secret, and they will give you an assignment to complete based on it. The idea is to give you more courage than you ever would have had on your own.

Unfortunately, this has the potential to also turn ugly; it does. But there’s unexpected events that happen at the end that will keep you hooked. There is still one scene at the end that made me a little less admiring of the writer, but overall it’s a gripping read.
